Well, after weeks and weeks when FM09 was out, I was wondering around about who to start, so I cam across kova's Real Sociedad Challenge. So here is my story:
I have finished my 1st season with Sociedad. So in our season in the Liga BBVA, I told the board we can get off from the relegation zone and I was given 7 million to spend on my transfers.
I saw our weakest area was upfront because I don't really believe the strikers are quality. The second weakest was in defense, which needs better players. We need better defenders to avoid relegation. Our strongest area was in midfield, which Prieto and Alonso is both quality players. So, here are my transfers:
In:
Ched Evans - Loan - Man City
Ben Amos - Loan - Man Utd
Stephen Carr - Free - Free Transfer
Stephan Appiah - Free - Free Transfer
Hatem Trabelsi - Free - Free Transfer
Jordy Brouwer - Loan - Liverpool
Diego Oliveira - 3.1M - Zaragoza
Fabio Da Silva - Loan - Man Utd
Rodrigo Possebon - Loan - Man Utd
Alberto Zapater - 5M - Zaragoza
Carlo Cudicini - Free - Free Transfer
Alex Fazal - Free - Free Transfer
Out:
Mikel Gonzalez - Zaragoza - 4M
Mikel Alonso - Murcia - 575K
Moha - Las Palmas - 100K
Dani Estrada - Malaga - 700K
Diego Rivas - Zaragoza - 8M
Matches:
2 Friendlies:
Real Sociedad 3 - 0 Osasuna
Real Madrid 5 - 3 Real Sociedad
4 league matches:
Real Sociedad 2 - 0 Murcia
Real Sociedad 4 - 0 Las Palmas
Malaga 0 - 3 Real Sociedad
Elche 0 - 3 Real Sociedad
So after these games I was really happy with our transfers and with 4 wins out of 4 and the squad has settled in well. Ricardo Oliveira has scored 7 goals in 4 appearances which I think he could be a bargain buy and also Alberto Zapater has been immense for my midfield area.
I am still using a Diamente tactic which has been the best tactic I have chosen so far and for my away games I am using my own 3-2-3-2-1 defensive tactic.
League Position: 5th
Copa del Rey: Real Sociedad vs Las Palmas
Next update will come tomorrow.
