The FM Editor

For those having difficulty finding the FM09 Editor.

If you installed or authenticated with Steam, look in:

C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\football manager 2009\tools\data editor

If you bought a disc copy of the game and authenticated with Uniloc or over the phone, look in:

C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2009\tools\data editor

Cheers Ice very helpful for those who cant find it and I've seen a few cases, do you use editor yourself?? I personally think it's cheating thoughts people...

Sorry Rossi i have to disagree with you on that one i believe editor is great ! on FM08 i created my own nation and had lots of fun with that

Meh. People can use it to cheat, but if so that's their thing, I only ever cheated a couple of times in my young and more naive days.

Oh, and it can be used to run Ai experiments etc.

Maybe I have never used but have used FM scout to find the next Ronaldo however on this years version i dont think it's needed as the regens are amazing

I use it to set up sign-ups and experiments. I'd never edit the database and then play the game as if it was unedited, passing any accomplishments off as realistic.

I would but I run all of my challenges/sign-ups on the official forums. Maybe in time, though.

I don't think many people would be interested right now. Anyway, I see that the site has been advertised in the Fansites Forum, which is the right way to go about it.

The Official Forum has exploded in the last few months: lots of new users since the release of FM09.

Be careful of adevertising on other forums though. You could find it makes people even less likely to visit the site. It's alright if you put it in your sig on the site though.

As for the editor, I have edited FM a little bit. Just a few small tweaks here and there where I feel certain players' stats are unrealistically low or high.

I didn't change too many, but I felt Walcott deserved higher than 14 for dribbling, and I also gave him 20 for pace and acceleration. Kolo Toure is very over-rated. He's a good defender in real life, but on the game he is seriously class. There were a few others but I can't remember them now.

The whole Aston Villa team in my eyes have better stats than they do in the game especially gabby and young, and Doddsy totally agree with you their on Walcott
